Sad to hear that Monkees' guitarist Mike Nesmith has passed. When I was growing up, Mike was one of the first guitarists kids could regularly see up close on television. I watched The Monkees tv show every day after school, inevitably drawn to the tall quiet guy with the wool hat and the awesome Gretsch guitar. Few people knew that Mike was a songwriter too; prior to his stint in the band, he wrote one of the most bittersweet pop songs of the 60’s - sung by an equally little-known Linda Ronstadt. RIP Mike. Thank you for the inspiration and all those great songs.
